The Raza Lab is pleased to announce the publication of a new ChemMedChem article highlighting Light-Activated Metal-Dependent Protein Degradation (LAMP-D), an emerging strategy for targeting antibiotic-resistance proteins. The article focuses on New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase 1 (NDM-1), a clinically important metallo-β-lactamase responsible for resistance to many frontline antibiotics, and discusses how light-activated metal complexes may offer new opportunities to restore antibiotic effectiveness against resistant bacterial pathogens.
