Raza Bioinorganic Chemistry Lab Awarded WiSys SPARK Grant
The Raza Bioinorganic Chemistry Lab has been awarded a WiSys SPARK Grant to support research on metal-based photodynamic therapy systems for hypoxia-active cancer treatment. The award will help advance undergraduate-driven research activities involving the synthesis and characterization of metal-BODIPY complexes at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
College of Science and Health Research Grant Award (2026)
The Raza Bioinorganic Chemistry Lab is pleased to share that Ezra has been awarded a College of Science and Health Research Grant in support of undergraduate research. This recognition will support ongoing lab work on metal complexes for photodynamic and immunotherapeutic applications, while further strengthening hands-on research training opportunities for undergraduate students. Congratulations to Ezra on this well-deserved achievement!!
FRG Award for Summer Research (2026–2027)
The Raza Bioinorganic Chemistry Lab has received a Faculty Research Grant (FRG) to support summer research for 2026-2027, supporting ongoing work metal complexes in photodynamic immunotherapy and undergraduate research training.
Lab Website Launched
January 2026 The Raza Bioinorganic Chemistry Lab website is now live. The site highlights our research in metal-based photodynamic therapy, metal cofactors in disease, and undergraduate research opportunities at UWL.
Undergraduate Research Opportunities Available
Motivated undergraduate students majoring in Chemistry or Biochemistry are encouraged to contact the lab for research opportunities involving synthesis, spectroscopy, and biological studies.
